Course Objectives
This course covers basic gas detection equipment identification and operation.
Learning Outcomes
Correctly set up and operate gas detection equipment
Describe the features and functions of gas detection equipment
Understand basic gas characteristics
Understand various sampling principles that can be used to detect hazardous atmospheres
Understand sensor limitations
Equipment used can be supplied by K.D.Fisher or may be supplied by client on site,
which would require prior arangement with the trainer. Sections of the course are generic
and are adaptable to a range of instruments.
Each participant must read and accept the following pre-requisites
prior to attending the course
Participants will require English literacy skills in order to read and accurately interpret
warning and safety signs and notices. You will also be required to complete short tests.
You will need to be able to read and interpret Acts and Regulations. The practical aspect
of the course is done in the classrom using models. This is to ensure course participants are
not exposed to the risk of atmospheric contaminants during their training. A Certificate of Attendance
and a photo ID card will be issued to all participants who reach the required competency in all topics.
What to Bring
Each participant may wear casual or normal work clothes. All course materials will be provided.
